ok, here is something you could do. see this?
this is the unblended highlights and shadings. notice i lowered the opacity of the main color.
Now using the smudlge tool, I smudge in the shadings and if it doesn't look right ,then just fix it up!

Actually cherry don't worry about that one. I am doing a different one. I got inspired by Foxy's so I am doing a Chestnut like my old TB Rio. Its not a paint like hers just a plain old chestnut

Hey Cherry, Try changing the color to WHITE and making the Opacity small and then Use your main color when it has the texture you like and go over it with the same opacity. And don't forget you're Burner and Doggle(doggle right? I don't have Adobe photo) Tools. They are the BEST!
